An hour + 4 minutes. Mouth got a little tired, but really I quit when I didn't want to think hard on clef studies ... :)
- Warmup, with pedal practice. I have a lesson with Jack on Wednesday and I want to work on the pedals with him as I'm not really there ... they are very hit and miss.
- I played with C major scale yesterday so this time I will go down, B major scales.
I got more pedals this time! Had fun with my B major scale starting from the trigger B but I was just a little funny as I figured I would pop it on up to the next octave ... started to fall apart just a tad on the G# ...- Beeler: Scale study, Red River Valley top and bottom, Excerpt from "Martha"
Now this was fun. My hard work on "Martha" the other day paid off big as I was really able to get a feel for the music today. On the scale exercise I paid attention to where I was messing up and worked those sections carefully, circled the places where I keep messing up. Red River Valley - the same thing as for Martha held true on the bottom part - I had a MUCH better feel for it today. - Peter & the Wolf, everything I play (not saying much)
Done deal. I like working on this now as I am really hearing how my notes should sound correctly. It was fun in rehearsal today, on this.- Selected Duets, if I make it that far
I worked the duet at the top of page 8, both top and bottom- Clef Studies, if I make it that far
This is where I bagged it ... I played #1, in tenor clef. I've played this one a lot before and it was easy. Then I jumped to #3 (Jack says, just focus on tenor clef, very little music is in alto clef - and the even numbered pieces are in alto clef). On #3, I had to start working hard (gasp) and it was the end of my practice time, and the end of a good day ...
